Live Results Throughout The Weekend
The Princeton men's and women's swimming and diving teams will make their home debut this weekend when they welcome four other teams to DeNunzio Pool for the annual Big Al Open. The event, slated to run in three sessions over two days, will be streamed live throughout the weekend on the Ivy League Digital Network.
Connecticut, Fordham, Lehigh and The College of New Jersey will send both men's and women's teams to compete with Princeton in the 2016 Big Al Open, which begins Friday at 6 pm, and will continue Saturday at both 9 am and 2 pm. You can follow live results throughout the weekend via the live stats link above.
The Princeton women opened their season last weekend in exciting fashion, as they nearly pulled off an upset at Miami. Shaelyn Choi, Gianna Garcia, and Christie Chong were each individual winners in their collegiate debuts for the Tigers, who fell 151-147 to the Hurricanes. Another strong freshman performer was diver Natasha MacManus, who placed second in both the 1M and 3M competitions under new diving coach Drew Livingston.
The Tiger men are making their debut this weekend, and they return All-America honorees Julian Mackrel and Alex Lewis, as well as a handful of other key performers who helped Princeton on its dramatic final-day comeback to win the 2015 Ivy League title. A highly touted freshman class will also make its collegiate debut this weekend, including Top 100 recruits (collegeswimming.com) Daniel Arris, Derek Cox, and Matthew Marquardt.
