Princeton Women Sweep Season-Opening Meet

At the season-opening Penn Elite Invitational Saturday in Philadelphia, the Princeton women's fencing team swept their six matches while the women took two of their five, each facing some of the top teams in the nation.
Princeton's women counted wins against NJIT, Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins, Ohio State, Northwestern and Columbia, a list that includes the top two teams in the CollegeFencing360.com rankings at the end of last season in Notre Dame and Columbia, plus two more top-seven wins in Ohio State and Northwestern.
Princeton's men picked up their wins against NJIT and Johns Hopkins with the losses coming against Ohio State, Notre Dame and Columbia, all top-six ranked teams at the end of last season including top-ranked Columbia and second-ranked Notre Dame.
Princeton's results from Saturday are below. The Tigers will compete again on Dec. 4 at the Sacred Heart Duals in Connecticut.
