Véronneau and Cressey Earn ECAC Weekly Honors

Princeton's Max Véronneau was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week and Jackson Cressey was named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, as the Tigers claimed two of three weekly honors.
Véronneau also earned the GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week honor, presented by Coach USA and was named one of NCAA Hockey's three stars from the weekend.
Véronneau entered the weekend without a goal this season. This weekend? He scored four times. Add to that three assists and he had a seven-point weekend as Princeton split with No. 18 Union and RPI. Those seven points was tops in the nation in scoring this weekend, along with Minnesota State's Marc Michaelis, as both averaging 3.50 points per game. On Friday against the Dutchmen, Véronneau had a hand in all three Princeton goals as he scored the first and third and assisted on the second. On Saturday he was the ice for all six of Princeton's goals. He scored twice and assisted on one goal, while also being a part of the play that led to the game winner in overtime.
Cressey scored that game-winning goal in overtime to give Princeton a 6-5 win over Rensselaer to help him earn Rookie of the Week honors. He tipped a shot by a teammate at 3:03 to give Princeton its league victory of the season. The goal was his first career goal. Additionally this weekend, he had four assists with three coming during his four-point game against Rensselaer and another against No. 18 Union.
The Tigers have won three out their last four games.
Princeton takes on travel partner No. 7 Quinnipiac in a home-and-home series this weekend. The teams first meet at Hobey Baker Rink on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.
