February 01, 2016 | Wrestling
His win ignited a 10-0 run that clinched Princeton's first victory over Penn in more than 24 years, and he completed a 3-0 weekend with a win over 12th-ranked Rutgers. Sophomore captain Brett Harner was honored for his brilliant weekend by being named the Suburban Transit/GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week.
Harner, currently ranked 11th nationally, moved to 23-2 on the season with three wins this weekend. After scoring a fall in the opener against F&M, Harner defeated Penn's Joe Heyob 15-3 to get the Tigers within two points with two matches remaining. Teammates Ray O'Donnell and Pat D'Arcy followed with victories to give Princeton a 19-15 win in its Ivy League opener.
Harner continued his winning ways Sunday, as he defeated Rutgers' Hayden Hrymack 8-4 in Jadwin Gym.
