Inviting a tough opponent into Jadwin Gym, the Princeton women's tennis team fell to 22nd-ranked Kentucky 7-0 Friday afternoon in the first of two matches for the Tigers this weekend in Jadwin Gym.
Rutgers will visit for a noon match Saturday, continuing the in-state rivals' annual series.
Kentucky took the first two doubles matches to be decided before doubles play was called, though all three doubles contests were within two games. One of those included the national No. 3-ranked pair of Mami Adachi and Aldila Sutjiadi for the Wildcats, which got past Princeton's top pair of Nicole Kalhorn and Amanda Muliawan 6-4.
Kentucky then clinched the point with wins on courts one, two and six, and the remaining three courts played the third set in a tiebreak format before Kentucky completed the sweep.
