MEN'S HOCKEY: No. 17 Rensselaer 2, Princeton 1
Princeton got a first-period goal from Ben Foster but saw Rensselaer's Milos Bubela score twice to give the Engineers a 2-1 win in Troy, N.Y. Saturday night. Junior Colton Phinney had 39 saves and became Princeton's single season save leader. Phinney currently has 892 saves, surpassing Erasmo Saltarelli's 870 from the 1997-98 season.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Princeton 83, Brown 57
Five different Tigers scored in double-figures as Princeton won its eighth straight game and won its 19th game of the season. The visitors blocked 13 shots, one shy of tying the team record for a single game. The Tigers outscored the Bears, 25-10 in the third quarter en route to the victory.
MEN'S BASKETBALL: Princeton 77, Brown 66
Princeton completed the weekend sweep with a 77-66 win over Brown. The Tigers got 14 points apiece from Henry Caruso and Steven Cook while holding the Bears to just 2 of 13 from beyond the arc to improve to 8-1 in the Ivy.
WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING: Tigers finish 3rd at Ivies
Sophomore Lindsay Temple won her first Ivy League individual title in the 200 back, while multiple Princeton swimmers reached the A finals, but Harvard dove to the 2016 Ivy championship.
SOFTBALL: UT Arlington 9, Princeton 1 (6 inn.); South Dakota State 7, Princeton 6
Princeton fell in a pair of games in its season-opening tournament at UT Arlington Saturday, with UTA using a six-run fourth to break it open and South Dakota State getting two in the bottom of the seventh to win it.
FENCING: Princeton women sweep, men take two wins
In their first competition since winning Ivy League titles two weekends ago, the Princeton fencing teams fenced five teams apiece Saturday at the Temple Duals. The women swept all five, including four against ranked opponents, and the men took two of five.
WOMEN'S SQUASH: Princeton 5, Trinity 4
Princeton seniors Tara Harrington and Rachel Leizman both posted victories in their home finale, and Leizman's win put the finishing touch on the 5-4 victory.
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Penn State 3, Princeton 0
Sophomore Kendall Ratter had 11 kills, seven digs and three blocks, but Princeton couldn't find the late points to score the upset at No. 7 Penn State.
WOMEN'S HOCKEY: Princeton 4, Union 2
The No. 8 Princeton women's hockey team has clinched home ice for the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals after a 4-2 win over Union on Senior Day. The Tigers earned the No. 3 seed in the eight-team tournament, and will host the No. 6 seed next weekend in a best-of-three series.
MEN'S LACROSSE: Princeton 21, NJIT 4
Princeton opened its season with a 21-4 win over NJIT Saturday with Zach Currier's four goals and three assists leading the way.
MEN'S TENNIS: Rice 4, Princeton 3
No. 49 Rice got past 41st-ranked men's tennis Saturday in Houston, winning the doubles point and splitting the singles matches. Tom Colautti, Alex Day and Luke Gamble had singles wins for Princeton.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE: Princeton 14, UVA 7
A balanced offense and a threatening defense led to No. 12 Princeton doubling up No. 4 Virginia, 14-7 in the Tigers season opener on Saturday on Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium. Junior Ellie DeGarmo made a career-high 13 saves and nine different players had goals with junior Olivia Hompe and sophomore Abby Finkelston recording hat tricks.
