Princeton's eight-match winning streak came to an end Saturday with a 4-3 loss to 49th-ranked Rice.
Rice opened the afternoon by taking the doubles point on wins on the first two courts before taking three of the first four singles matches to be decided. Princeton got singles wins from Tom Colautti, Alex Day and Luke Gamble.
This was the first of two weekends in which the Tigers headed south to play outdoors for the first time on the dual-match season. A trip to Montgomery, Ala., is next for the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic next weekend.
