Alabama, the 28th-ranked team in the nation, defeated the Princeton women's tennis team 4-0 to open the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala., Friday.
The Tigers will face No. 58 Texas in a consolation match Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Alabama opened by taking the doubles point with wins on courts one and three before winning the first three singles matches to finish, on courts two, five and six, to clinch the match.
