Fencers Post High Finishes, Two Wins at National Squad Championships

All six weapons for the Princeton fencing teams placed in the top three, with five in the top two and the men's foil and women's saber teams winning titles at the National Squad Championships Sunday in Jadwin Gym.
The men's foil squad edged out St. John's 45-44 in the final, with Michael Dudey finishing off the win by defeating the Red Storm's Michele Caporizzi 5-3 in the last bout.
The women's saber squad's title didn't come down to the last bout, with Gracie Stone, Sage Palmedo and Desirae Major out-touching Columbia's Anastasia Ivanoff, Ilana Solomon and Sarah Yee a combined 45-25 to take the title.
With the wins and high finishes, Princeton took the overall team title, the overall women's title and split the overall men's title with St. John's and Penn.
Princeton also held dual meets against St. John's, winning 19-8 on the women's side and falling 14-13 on the men's, and NYU on the men's side, winning that one 15-12.

The Tigers will be away from competition next weekend before heading to Lafayette for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on March 12.
