Harris Sets Ivy League Record in Pole Vault; Morgan Tops Pentathlon Record

It was only a matter of time. Junior Allison Harris has been chipping away at the pole vault record all season and her moment came tonight on Day 1 of the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup. Harris set the Ivy League record in the event clearing 4.20 (13-9.25). Harris bests Tory Worthen's record of 4.12 (13-6.25) from 2012.
It wasn't the only highlight of the meet as another record came from senior Taylor Morgan in the pentathlon. She set a Princeton record in the penathlon as she won the five-event competition with 4,050 points. She is the first Tiger to accumulate over 4,000 points in the pentathlon and surpasses she personal best of 3,923.
Morgan won the 800 (2:19.39), shot put (12.78), high jump (1.68) and was second in the long jump (5.63) and 60 hurdles (8.87). Senior Kerry Krause was fourth with 3,594 points.
Sophomore Christina Walter was third in the 60-meter dash clocking a PR of 7.67. She put up a 7.70 in the prelims to qualify for the eight-person final.
Sophomore Melissa Reed was third in the 5k at 17:26.19 to earn six points towards Princeton's team score. It was the first time she competed in the event this season.
An all-freshman distance medley relay finished third. Alie Fordyce, Carly Bonnet, Anna Jurew, Brighie Leach completed the relay in 11:42.15
Senior Sara Ronde earned two points in the long jump. She leapt to 5.50 (18-00.50).Freshman Ellie Randolph qualified for the seven-person final of the 60-hurdles after putting up an 8.85 in the prelims before running a 9.18 in the final to take seventh.
