Freshman Thrills Main Court With Win At 1, But Yale Claims Team Victory
February 06, 2016 | Men's Squash
Anton joined senior teammate Sam Ezratty on the winning side for Princeton, which will look for its first Ivy League team victory Sunday at noon against Brown, a match that will be streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network.
Ezratty won a wild match during the opening shift. A 13-11 win for Pehlaaj Bajwa seemed to give the Yale side full momentum, but Ezratty grinded out an 11-6 win in the fourth, and then rode that momentum to an 11-4 victory in the final game.
The fourth-ranked Bulldogs were too strong in the middle of the lineup, and they had secured the victory by the final shift. Regardless, Anton put on a show for the main court fans. He and Zachary Leman played extra points in all three games, but he had the winning answers all three times for matching 15-13 victories.
