Women's Tennis Ends ECACs With a Win, Tops Yale
February 07, 2016 | Women's Tennis
Sunday morning saw the Princeton women's tennis team end its ECAC Championship play with a win, defeating Yale 4-0 in the consolation final.
The teams began play with singles and would play the doubles only if the teams split the six singles contests, but Katrine Steffensen, Caroline Joyce, Sivan Krems and Amanda Muliawan made that unneccessary by taking the first four singles matches to finish.
The Tigers opened play at the ECAC Championship with a loss to Harvard before defeating Cornell and earning a berth in Sunday's consolation final.
Now having put together back-to-back wins for the second time this dual-match season, the Tigers will return home for a pair of contests against Kentucky Friday and Rutgers Saturday. With a new ranking due out Wednesday, Kentucky was ranked 22nd in the country on Jan. 27.
