CS Fullerton, LMU Ahead for Softball as Spring Trip Continues

Princeton softball's spring trip began with three games over the weekend at Long Beach State's tournament and will continue this week in the Los Angeles area before shifting south to San Diego for the weekend.
After a day away from competition Monday, Princeton will resume with a game Tuesday at Cal State Fullerton at 9 p.m. ET before playing two at Loyola Marymount Wednesday beginning at 3 p.m. ET.
The Tigers will be following in the recent paths of Ivy foes. Princeton's game Tuesday will be the second half of a doubleheader for Cal State Fullerton, which will host Yale at 7 p.m. Tuesday. LMU hosted a tournament that included Harvard over the weekend and will host the Crimson again Tuesday before another New Jersey program, Fairleigh Dickinson, takes on the Lions later Tuesday.
Princeton will enter the weekend with a record of 3-9 after taking its sixth one-run loss of the season to close Sunday against Long Beach State, 5-4. Junior Marissa Reynolds remains the team leader with a .333 average among those with enough plate appearances to qualify under the NCAA minimums (2.5/team game), but rookie Kaylee Grant will bring a four-game hitting streak into the midweek pair, the longest streak of her young Tiger career.
Cal State Fullerton enters the midweek at 18-8 after sweeping its way through the Long Beach State tournament with wins over Utah Valley, Iowa State, two over Mississippi State and a 4-0 win over Princeton Saturday.
Loyola Marymount stands at 14-8 entering its games Tuesday, taking one of three games in its home tournament against Harvard (loss), Monmouth (win) and FDU (loss).
After a day off Thursday, Princeton will play five games in three days in Santee, Calif., at a San Diego State-hosted tournament. Saint Mary's, Seattle, Fresno State, San Diego State and Colorado State will be on the docket for the Tigers in Santee.
