Three in Texas Ahead for Women's Tennis

With midterms behind them and spring break having arrived, the Princeton women's tennis team will head to Texas for a trio of matches beginning Tuesday.
The Tigers will travel from Austin to Houston, opening with a match against the University of Texas Tuesday before heading to the University of Houston and Rice University for contests Thursday and Saturday.
Princeton (6-6) last played when it hosted Georgia State two Saturdays ago in a 6-1 win over the 43rd-ranked Panthers from Atlanta, Princeton's second win over an ITA-ranked opponent this season.
No. 32 Texas (6-4) and Princeton met less than a month ago, on Feb. 27 to close out the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic with a 4-2 Longhorns win. The alma mater of Princeton assistant coach Elizabeth Begley, Texas will be facing its second straight Ivy opponent after defeating Penn 5-2 last Thursday in Austin for its third win in a row. Tuesday's match will be the final one for Texas before Big 12 play begins later this week.
Houston (4-12) enters Thursday's match with the Tigers looking to break a four-match skid, one that started with a loss to another Ivy opponent, Brown, on Mar. 6. Princeton is Houston's second of three Ivy opponents this season, as the Cougars will head to Dartmouth for a Mar. 26 match.
No. 55 Rice (7-5) is also no stranger to Ivy foes, as the Owls defeated Brown on Mar. 5 before falling to Penn, both in Houston. Rice, which will be looking to break a three-match skid when it hosts Princeton, will head to Yale for a Mar. 27 contest with the Bulldogs.
The weekend marks Princeton's last matches before Ivy League play begins Mar. 26 at the Lenz Tennis Center (or Jadwin Gym in inclement weather) against Penn.
