Softball Set to Wrap Spring Trip This Weekend in San Diego

After six games between last weekend and the midweek, the Princeton softball team will wrap its spring trip to California with its busiest stretch of the trip, one that has five games in three days at San Diego State's San Diego Classic II tournament.
Though the tournament's 39 games will be split between SDSU's home field and Sportsplex USA in nearby Santee, Calif., all five of Princeton's games will be in Santee.
Along with being the end of the spring trip, it's also the last set of games for Princeton before opening the home slate against Colgate next Saturday with Ivy League play opening the following weekend at home against Dartmouth and Harvard.
Princeton will head into the weekend looking to break a six-game skid since its 12-1 win over Hampton back on Feb. 28. The Tigers have used all five pitchers to this point with senior Shanna Christian and sophomore Ashley La Guardia accounting for 61 of the team's 96 innings in the circle. At the plate, Marissa Reynolds leads the Tigers with enough plate appearances (2.5 per team game) to qualify under the NCAA minimum, bringing a .308 average into the weekend.
