Coach Billy Pate on the match: "Credit to USD, they played a great match. I was pleased with how we went after it today, emotionally and physically. We gave ourselves a chance, but simply couldn't grab one of those tight first sets. Losing 4 of 6 singles in first-set tiebreakers was disappointing, especially considering how strong the top half of USD's lineup is. That's where they are particularly experienced and dangerous. Nonetheless, this was a successful tournament and we're excited to prepare for league play." |
