March 25, 2016 | Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving
After 30 successful years as the head diving coach at Princeton University, Greg Gunn has announced his resignation following the 2015-16 academic year.
Gunn coached 30 individual Ivy League champions and nine All-America honorees throughout his Princeton career, and he helped the Tigers win 36 Ivy League swimming and diving team championships (19 men, 17 women) during his tenure.
“I would like to thank Greg Gunn for his dedication to Princeton University and our student-athletes over three decades. The competitive success of the swimming and diving program is something in which we take great pride” said Mollie Marcoux '91, The Ford Family Director of Athletics. “I wish Greg the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
During his tenure at Princeton, Gunn trained nine All-Americas: Beth Bridgewater, Andi Suess, Lyle Suess, Kenny Iams, Erin Lutz, Danielle Stramandi, Kent DeMond, Michelle DeMond, and Katie Giarra. He coached several Diver of the Meets at the Ivy League Championships, including recent honorees Caitlin Chambers and Stevie Vines.
His divers succeeded both in and out of the pool. Recently, the duo of Rachel Zambrowicz and Randi Brown shared the Class of 1916 Cup, given to the senior student-athlete with the highest GPA at the 2014 PVC Senior Banquet.
A national search for the next coach of Princeton Diving will begin immediately.
