Race for the NCAA Fencing Title Enters Final Day with Tigers Fifth

A Columbia lead that stood at two wins entering Saturday expanded to 13 over second-place Ohio State, but Princeton's final standing will hinge on Sunday's performance.
The Tigers stand in fifth place, but just five wins behind Ohio State in second, part of a bunched-up group behind the Lions. Princeton has taken home an NCAA trophy in each of the last five years for being in the top four, something no other program can claim over that time.
Also at stake Sunday are individual title berths, and junior épée Alex House and sophomore saber Edward Chin are in the best position of the six Tiger men to make the top four, each standing in fifth place in his weapon. The top four fencers once Sunday's round-robin concludes will battle for NCAA individual titles.
