April 14 TigerCast: Zack Belski, Georgie Howe and Billy Pate
April 14, 2016 | Baseball, General, Men's Tennis, Women's Rowing - Open
With key home events for each coming up — and a terrific weather forecast in Princeton — Zack Belski, Georgie Howe and Billy Pate joined the latest edition of TigerCast.
Belski broke an 84-year Princeton record when he drove in eight runs last Sunday in a 25-7 win at Brown. The junior has helped Princeton move to first in the Gehrig Division, and the Tigers host second-place Penn for four games this weekend. Belski talks about the turnaround from a tough 2015 season, and where an 8-RBI game ranked in his life (spoiler alert: very high).
Howe is a junior on the ninth-ranked open rowing team, which hosts No. 5 Yale and No. 11 USC this weekend in the Eisenberg Cup regatta. Howe, who competed for Australia at the Senior World Championships last summer, talked about how inspiring an early-season loss was, and what she expects this weekend. She also talked about how Princeton affected her Olympic motivation.
Pate, the fourth-year head coach of the men's tennis team, has kept his squad in contention in both the Ivy League race and the chase for a second-straight NCAA tournament berth, though both took a hit during a tough road stretch last weekend. His squad can flip that this weekend, first at Ivy leader Columbia and then in a home match Sunday with Cornell. Pate looks at his team, the tough weekend and their NCAA possibilities.
