Three Tigers in Top 5 After Day 1 of Heptathlon

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/14/16) - Three Tigers are in the top five after Day 1 of the heptathlon, which kick starts the Princeton Outdoor Invitational.
Sophomore Maia Craver is in second place after four events with 2,819 points. Freshman Frances Lodge is in third with 2,681 points , while freshman Mikaela Sawyer has 2,501 points to sit fifth out of 14 competitors.
Craver won both the 100 hurdles and the 200 with times of 14.82 and 25.80, respectively. She was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 10.14 and was seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 1.48.
Sawyer was the runnner-up in the 200 at 26.68 and was third in the hurdles at 15.44. She went on to take eighth in the shot put with a mark of 8.69 and jumped 1.42 in the high jump to tie for ninth.
Lodge tied for second place in the high jump with a clearance of 1.60 and was third in the 200 at 27.07. A fourth-place finish in the hurdles with a time of 15.51 was joined by a throw of 8.99 in the shot put to take sixth.
Day 2 of the hepathlon begins at 2 p.m., on Friday. The rest of the meet will be held starting at 10 a.m., on Saturday with the women's hammer throw, while the first track event will be the hurdles at noon at Weaver Stadium.
