Columbia jumped ahead on a four-spot in the first inning. The first four Lions got on base and came around to score, highlighted by a two-run triple by Lane Robinette.
Princeton had its first two hitters reach via walks in the second inning to start its first threat of the afternoon. Following a strikeout and fielder's choice, a walk would load the bases for the Tigers, but the visitors couldn't cash in on the opportunity.
The three-time defending Ivy League champion added on in the second on a home run by Randell Kanemaru. Princeton's first hit came in the top of the third on senior Danny Hoy's fifth home run of the season. The second baseman had two hits, giving him 11 multi-hit games in 2016. The Tigers got within three (5-2) on a RBI infield single from junior Cody Phillips in their portion of the fourth.
The Lions had a chance to put the game away as they loaded bases with no out in the fifth, but junior Chris Giglio got a pop up sandwiched between two strikeouts to end the scoring chance. Giglio did not give up a run in 2 2/3 innings of work in relief.
With two out in the seventh, senior Billy Arendt hit long double off the center field wall and then came around to score on a ground-rule double by Hoy. The next hitter, junior Nick Hernandez, kept the comeback alive with a run-scoring single up the middle. Junior Zack Belski lined a hit to right field that advanced Hernandez, the tying run, to third base, but Harrisen Egly, Columbia' closer, finished off Princeton with a strikeout.

Sophomore Asher Lee-Tyson, freshman Jesper Horsted and Hernandez posted two hits to help the Tigers' offense. Junior Paul Tupper registered three runs in the loss.
Kanemaru began the scoring in game four on a home run over the right-center field wall in the Lions' half of the first. Horsted ripped a base hit up the middle that allowed Tupper to touch home to tie the contest at 1-all in the third.
In Princeton's half of the fourth frame, Hernandez lifted a long fly ball over the right field fence to put the road team in front, 3-1. Columbia answered on a RBI double by John Kinne to make the score, 3-2 in the bottom portion of the inning.
