April 28 TigerCast: Pippa Temple, Christian Wawrzonek & Juliette Hackett
April 28, 2016 | General, Women's Water Polo, Women's Rowing - Lightweight, Men's Rowing - Lightweight
With big weekends upcoming for each, seniors Pippa Temple and Christian Wawrzonek join junior Juliette Hackett on the latest edition of TigerCast.
Temple is the lone senior on the Princeton women's water polo team, which heads to Cambridge this weekend to compete in the CWPA championships. The Tigers are the reigning league champion, but they have a tough road this weekend, which starts against the host school, Harvard. Temple talks about how far this young squad has come, and how close the CWPA has been this season.
Wawrzonek was in the men's lightweight varsity boat that turned plenty of heads two weeks ago when Princeton ended Cornell's 18-race win streak. Now he and his teammates will look to end another win streak, as top-ranked Yale remains the lone unbeaten team in the league. Wawrzonek talks about the importance of that Cornell win and the excitement of the only H-Y-P regatta in collegiate rowing.
Hackett has stroked the women's lightweight varsity boat since her freshman season, and she has been a leader in a young, developing squad this season. Princeton dealt with both early-season injuries and a brutal schedule, but it has come through a stronger team, and is looking to show its growth this Sunday at the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond. Among her thoughts, Hackett talks about a race from last season that can serve as an inspiration Sunday.
