The ninth-ranked Princeton open women will conclude their 2016 regular season Saturday morning on Lake Carnegie when they welcome 19th-ranked Duke for a pair of racing sessions. The two teams will hit the water at 8 am for the official set of races (V4, 2V8, V8), and then will return to the water at 11:30 for a set of scrimmage races.
Princeton enters the weekend with an eight-race win streak, which included a trio of wins last weekend during the annual Class of 1984 Plaque regatta. The Tigers haven't lost since they dropped their season opener to both No. 2 Brown and No. 3 Ohio State, and neither of those margins were by more than three seconds.
Since then, Princeton has topped each of its Ivy League rivals, including seventh-ranked Yale, as well as USC and Bucknell. The Tigers can pick up a fourth win over a ranked team this weekend, as Duke comes in ranked 19th following a third-place finish at the Dale England Cup.
Princeton will also honor its senior class, which has helped the Tigers win two Ivy League championships (2013, 2014), as well as finish in the top six at both the 2013 NCAA Championships (third) and the 2014 NCAA Championships (sixth). The Class of 2016 includes Mary Ann McNulty, Annelies Paine, Erin Reelick, Brett Simpson, Meghan Wheeler, and Emily Wiebe.
