Women's Lightweights Take Fourth At 2016 Eastern Sprints
May 01, 2016 | Women's Rowing - Lightweight
Princeton took fourth in both the varsity eight (7:32.041) and the second varsity eight (7:41.236); while the top three in the grand final (Boston University, Radcliffe and Wisconsin) created some separation in the varsity final, the 2V pushed at Radcliffe to reach the medal stand. Ultimately, the Crimson held of by less than six seconds.
Head coach Paul Rassam was able to give a quartet of freshmen an opportunity to compete in a four. The boat finished in 8:50.139, about 5.5 seconds behind Radcliffe.
Princeton will now turn its attention to the 2016 IRA national championships, which will be held June 4-5 at nearby Mercer Lake.
