Incoming Tiger Kolodzik Wins U Nationals, Heads To World University Games
June 14, 2016 | Wrestling
The first competitive match that incoming freshman Matthew Kolodzik will wrestle as a Princeton undergraduate will take place in Corum, Turkey.
It isn't exactly a standard road match, but Kolodzik isn't exactly the standard newcomer.
Kolodzik, who was accepted to Princeton in 2015 but deferred a year, earned a spot at the 2016 World University Games by winning University Nationals, held in Akron, Ohio, earlier this month.
So proud of Princeton RTC athlete and future Princeton Tiger @kokolodzik making the University World Team. Excellence Actualized!

Kolodzik won five matches, all by at least six points, to reach a best-of-three finals against Kyle Ayersman of Purdue. The younger brother of former Princeton captain Daniel Kolodzik would not be denied; he won his two matches by scores of 9-1 and 10-0 to clinch his place at the World University Games.
Following his win, he caught up with USA Wrestling for the below interview.
