Fencing Teams to Compete at Northwestern Duals
January 31, 2017 | Men's Fencing, Women's Fencing
The Northwestern Duals, which will be held this year at Notre Dame, are ahead this weekend for the Princeton fencing teams.
Princeton has competed at the Northwestern Duals annually since 2010, though the site has shifted this year due to facility renovations at Northwestern. Last year, the Princeton men went 9-2 and the women went 7-3 at the event.Â
Both Tiger teams will face fellow top-10 opponents at the meet. Princeton's women, ranked second in the nation, will face No. 3 Notre Dame, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 8 Temple and No. 9 Northwestern, while the fifth-ranked men will take on No. 2 Ohio State, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 9 Stanford.
The competition is the third of the season for Princeton, with the women standing 10-0 and the men at 6-3. It's also the last competition before the Ivy League round robin, which will decide the Ivy League championship and will be held at Penn next weekend.
