Columbia Edges Princeton To End First Half Of Ivy Slate

Despite a combined 31 kills from the Ivy League's top pair of hitters this season, Columbia came up with the big points to knock the Princeton women's volleyball team out of first place in the Ivy League for the first time since 2015 during a 3-2 win Saturday night in New York City.
The Columbia win, combined with a Yale victory at Harvard, puts the Bulldogs at 6-1 at the midway point of the Ivy season. Both Princeton and Harvard are 5-2, while Cornell is 4-3 after a home win over Penn.
Reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Year Maggie O'Connell, who entered the weekend ranked second in kills, led the Tigers with 16 kills and a block, while Ivy leader Natasha Skov added 15 kills and six digs. Junior Caroline Sklaver added 12 kills, while Devon Peterkin had 16 digs for the Tigers.
Princeton will open the second half of the Ivy season next Friday at the Palestra. Following that match, Princeton will play four of its final six matches at home.
