Schachner Named Ivy League Player of the Week
October 16, 2017 | Men's Soccer
Princeton's Jacob Schachner has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week, the second honor for the sophomore keeper this season.
Schachner helped the Tigers picked up their first point in the league against undefeated conference foe No. 22 Columbia. He turned away a career-high seven shots in the 0-0 draw. The sophomore had his best save of the first half coming directly off a free kick from Brendan Denis. In the second half, he made a leaping save to deny Arthur Bosua who picked up a long ball from midfield in the 60th minute.
This marks the second weekly award for Schachner, who picked up Player of the Week accolades after Princeton's draw to then-No. 8 Syracuse at the beginning of the season.
Princeton travels to Harvard on Saturday, Oct. 21. Kick off is at 4:30 p.m.
