Princeton No. 14 in CWPA Varsity Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers are now No. 14 in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Poll.
Princeton went 4-1 over the previous week, splitting two Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) matches before a 3-0 weekend at the Crimson Invitational. The Tigers earned a 12-6 victory over Iona before falling to No. 12 St. Francis-Brooklyn, 13-10, last Wednesday. The squad rebounded with wins over George Washington (13-7), Wagner (14-11) and No. 18 Bucknell (12-7) at Harvard. The Tigers are now 17-4 overall and 4-1 in the NWPC.
The top five remained the same in the Varsity Poll with USC sitting at the top, followed by UCLA, Cal., Stanford and Pacific. St. Francis-Brooklyn is now the top team in the NWPC in the poll at No. 12.
Ryan Wilson leads the Tigers with 86 points and 67 assists on the season. His 67 helpers this year are the most in a single-season in program history. His 153 career assists are also the most ever in the program.
Jordan Colina is the team-leader with 50 goals and 46 steals on the season. He has four straight 50+ goal seasons and is one of only six players ever to reach the 200-goal milestone. Sean Duncan (48) and Matt Payne (48) and Michael Swart also have over 40 goals. Head coach Luis Nicolao is three wins shy of 400 career victories with the men's water polo squad.
The Tigers will take a week off before getting back into Northeast Water Polo Conference action at MIT (11 a.m.) and No. 14 Harvard (8 p.m.) on Oct. 28.
