Givens Earns Season's Second Ivy League Player of the Week Honor
October 02, 2017 | Women's Soccer
For the second time this season, Princeton sophomore Abby Givens has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week for women's soccer.
Givens scored both goals in Princeton's 2-0 win at Dartmouth, sending in tries in the 69th and 82nd minutes. She co-leads the Ivy League in goals scored this fall with Columbia's Natalie Neshat at eight apiece.Â
The Ivy award is Princeton's fourth in six weeks. Princeton set the Ivy record two years ago with seven honors in a 2015 season that saw the Tigers host an NCAA tournament game at Roberts Stadium for the first time since the facility opened in 2008 and win that game to advance to the NCAA second round.
Givens' two awards this season are her first two Ivy Player of the Week honors. An honorable mention All-Ivy League last year, Givens earned one Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor in 2016.
