Ferland and Tigers Post 4-0 Shutout at Arizona State

Freshman Ryan Ferland made 20 saves to earn his second career shutout on Friday night in Game 1 of a two-game series with Arizona State.
Princeton's Ontario line of Ryan Kuffner-Alex Riche-Max Véronneau combined for six of the team's 10 points with both Riche and Kuffner scoring goals. Senior David Hallisey kept his goal-scoring streak alive and is the first Tiger to score in six straight games since Dan Bartlett during the 2008-09 season. In the last six games, Hallisey has nine points.

Senior Eric Robinson notched his sixth goal of the season thanks to an interception by Alex Riche at the checkered red. He brought the puck in and sent a drop pass for Robinson who went glove side on Joey Daccord. Less than three minutes later the Tigers grabbed a 2-0 lead converting on their first power-play opportunity of the game. Hallisey buried a Véronneau rebound with Josh Teves earning the secondary assist to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead in the first period.

Riche added to the Princeton lead just 34 seconds into the second period when he went five hole from the right half wall. Kuffner and Matthew Thom earned the assists.

Kuffner grabbed his seventh goal of the season when he got a perfect pass from Véronneau on the backdoor to cushion Princeton's lead 4-0.

Princeton's power play, which entered the weekend ranked 12th in the nation was 1 for 1.
The Tigers had a 36-20 shot advantage and improve to 6-6-1 on the season.

These two teams will meet again for Game 2 tomorrow night at 7 p.m., MT.
