Women's Tennis Team Rallies to Defeat UT Arlington
February 01, 2017 | Women's Tennis
A three-match trip to Texas for the Princeton women's tennis team began with a 4-1 comeback win Wednesday at UT Arlington.
The Mavericks won the doubles point, but Princeton evened the score with a 6-0, 6-1 win from Alanna Wolff at sixth singles and took the next three matches to finish, each one in three sets, to clinch the match. Tiffany Chen rebounded from a 6-2 first-set loss to allow only three games the rest of the way, including a 6-0 win in the third set. Clare McKee also allowed just three games after a 6-3 first-set loss to put Princeton up 3-1, and Sivan Krems, who lost her first set 6-0 and trailed 6-5 in the second set before tying it up and taking the tiebreak to keep her match alive, clinched the win with a 6-3 third-set win.
The Tigers, now 3-0 on the season, will head south from the Dallas area to face No. 15 Texas A&M (4-0) in a 4 p.m. match Thursday. Live stats for that match can be found here.
