Men's Soccer Team Honors Seniors at Annual Banquet

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/27/17) - The Princeton men's soccer team held its annual team banquet on Sunday, April 23 at the Woodrow Wilson School's Robertson Hall.
The nine-member senior class of Patrick Barba, Brian Costa, Josh Haberman, Vikram Pothuri, Mark Romanowski, Greg Seifert, Steffen Seitz and Bryan Windsor along with student coach David Goldstein each spoke about their time at Princeton and being a part of the men's soccer program.
Certificates and awards, including Ivy League honors, earned during the season were presented before the three major team awards.
The Dr. William Trevor Trophy was awarded to both Matthew Mangini and Seifert. The award is presented to the member of the Princeton men's soccer team who has shown the greatest improvement in the quality of play and attitude during the season. A junior midfielder, Mangini started in 16 games and had five assists, including two at Georgetown. Seifert was moved from defense to forward this season and led the league in scoring with 26 points on a league-best 11 goals and four assists. His best outing was a five-point game at Seton Hall, two weeks before he kick started a five-game goal scoring streak.
The Robert Myslik Award was presented to senior captain Barba. The Myslik Award is annually awarded to the member of the team who most demonstrates the passion for life, the fiery competitiveness, the unwavering honesty and the selfless generosity of Rob Myslik. A first-team All-Ivy League selection, Barba was also named third-team Academic All-America and Academic All-Ivy. He tallied seven points on two goals and three assists as a defender this season.
The David S. Hackett Memorial Cup, an award voted on by the team was given to Bryan Windsor. The Hackett Cup is awarded annually to the member of the Princeton soccer team whose enthusiasm, discipline and leadership contributed most to the team and the sport of soccer at Princeton. Windsor played in 15 games and tallied two assists this season.
Princeton went 7-7-3 in 2016 highlighted by a 3-1 win over No. 22-ranked Rider. Six of the Tigers' seven losses were by just one goal.
