Hompe and DeGarmo Capture First-Team All-America Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/17/17) - Princeton's Ellie DeGarmo and Olivia Hompe have earned first-team All-America honors it was announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), it was announced by the organization this afternoon.
This is the second consecutive season DeGarmo has been a first-team selection, while this is Hompe's first time on the first team after earning third-team honors last year. The last time Princeton had two first-team All-Americas was in 2005 when Lindsey Biles and Elizabeth Pillion earned the credentials.
The nation's leader in save percentage for the second straight season, DeGarmo boasts a .556 save percentage and ranks fourth in the NCAA in save per game, averaging 12.2 saves per game. DeGarmo has a 15-3 record and with six wins over ranked teams and each of the three losses to top-10 teams. She has made double digits saves in 13 games with a career-high coming during a 16-11 win over then-ranked No. 10 Syracuse. This season she earned her second Tewaaraton Top-25 nomination, was named first-team All-Ivy League, Ivy League Tournament MVP and IWCLA first-team all-region. DeGarmo was the 2016 Goaltender of the Year and is contention for the award again this season.
Hompe has re-written the Princeton and Ivy League record books this season. A finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy, she is the 2017 Ivy League Attacker of the Year. A three-time unanimous first-team all-league honoree, this year she also captured first-team all-region and her third Ivy League All-Tournament team selection. She leads the nation in goals (4.00) and shots (8.33) and is third in points per game (5.94). This season she has scored 107 points on 72 goals and 35 assists in 18 games. Both her goal and point totals are single-season records at Princeton. At the Ivy League Tournament she set six records in goals, assists and points in a single game and in a tournament. Hompe is Princeton's all-time leading scorer and goal-scorer with 282 points on 195 goals and 87 assists.
