Joyce, Kalhorn, Steffensen Named All-Ivy League
May 04, 2017 | Women's Tennis
Senior Caroline Joyce and sophomore Nicole Kalhorn were first-team All-Ivy League honorees in doubles and junior Katrine Steffensen was a second-team all-leaguer in singles play, the Ivy League office announced Thursday after a vote of the Ivy's coaches.
The honors are the first for Joyce and Kalhorn, while Steffensen was a second-teamer in singles last year.
Steffensen played all her singles contests in the dual-match season at the No. 1 spot, winning six matches. Joyce was a part of a team-high 19 doubles matches and a team-best 12 wins in duals, winning all 12 at the No. 1 spot. Kalhorn was tied for the second-most overall doubles wins, with 17, and was second in dual-match doubles wins with 10, getting all 10 of those on court one with Joyce. Together, Joyce and Kalhorn were ranked as high as 39th in the country during the dual-match season, and in the fall, the pair had wins over ITA No. 4 Mira Ruder-Hook and Brienne Minor of Michigan and No. 24 Martina Frantova and Tayla Stenta of North Carolina State.
