September 21, 2017 | Women's Tennis
Five Tigers are set to play in Penn's Cissie Leary Invitational Friday through Sunday.
Sophomores Tiffany Chen and Clare McKee are in the A singles draw, while senior Sara Goodwin, junior Catalina Vives and freshman Nathalie Rodilosso are in the B singles draw. McKee and Goodwin will pair in the A doubles bracket, with Vives and Rodilosso are in the B singles draw, as is Chen with Cornell rookie Molly Sandberg.
Along with Princeton and host Penn, St. John's, Columbia, Drexel, Cornell, Penn State, Richmond and Temple are sending players to the event.
Singles players will play at least three matches while doubles pairs will play at least two. Friday's and Saturday's play and all back-draw matches will have a tiebreak for a third set if needed while Sunday's main-draw play will have a full third set if necessary. All doubles matches will be a single set with a tiebreak if needed.
Friday will feature one round of doubles and two rounds of singles before Saturday has a main-draw and a back-draw round of singles and the completion of doubles. Sunday will feature the conclusion of play with main-draw singles finals and two round of back-draw singles. Play will start at 9 a.m. on all three days.
Princeton opened the season last week with the four Tigers who aren't competing this weekend, senior Katrine Steffensen, junior Nicole Kalhorn, sophomore Gaby Pollner and rookie Stephanie Schrage, playing at the ITA Hall of Fame Grass Court tournament. Steffensen and Schrage each picked up wins over ITA-ranked opponents at the event.
