Women's Golf Team Sets Program Best, Tops Among Ivies at Penn State

Among the five Ivy League schools in the Princeton women's golf team's first tournament of the fall season, the Tigers were the best as the Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational came to a close Sunday.

Princeton finished fourth overall in the 14-team field, as the defending Ivy League champions were behind only winner Maryland, Penn State and Delaware. Maryland finished at -1 to hold off the host team by three strokes.

The Terrapins also had the individual winner, with Laura Van Respaille leading five players in red numbers at -4 to take medalist honors by two strokes over a pair of Penn State players, Cara Basso and Madelein Herr. Junior Tiana Lau was the top Tiger, tying for eighth overall at +2.

Princeton's three-round score of 889 was the program's best for a 54-hole event, surpassing the 891 the team posted in last year's Ivy League Championships.

Princeton's results are below and complete results are available here. The Tigers will return home to host the Princeton Invitational next Saturday and Sunday at Springdale Golf Club.
