The spring dual-match season opener in Jadwin Gym for the Princeton women's tennis team against Temple has been postponed to Thursday, Feb. 1 at 11 a.m.
The match was due to be played Saturday at 10 a.m., but a lack of enough healthy players for Temple has forced postponement.
Princeton is 17-1 all-time against Temple, a series that will be Princeton's second-most played non-conference series when Thursday's match begins. The Tigers have played Rutgers 40 times and San Diego State also 18 times.
Princeton opened last season with three straight wins on the way to a 13-9 mark, and the Tigers will aim Saturday to make it three years in a row with a win to open the dual-match season. Princeton last played Temple to open the 2014 spring season, getting a 6-1 win. Temple opened its dual season Friday, Jan. 19 with a 7-0 win over Morgan State before losing 4-0 to Penn State Sunday.
Underclassmen had the most singles wins in the fall individual season, with rookie Nathalie Rodilosso going 9-4, classmate Stephanie Schrage going 8-6 with three wins against top-125 opponents, and sophomore Clare McKee went 8-6. Schrage and junior Nicole Kalhorn and Rodilosso and junior Catalina Vives were Princeton's winningest doubles duos in the fall, each going 4-1.
The Temple match will begin a nine-match homestand for Princeton, running through March 3 against Penn State. During that run, Princeton will also host the ECAC Championships Feb. 9-11. Admission to all Princeton home regular-season tennis matches is free.
