Princeton Ranked #9 in Preseason IWLCA Poll

The Princeton women's lacrosse team is ranked No. 9 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association preseason poll, it was announced by the organization today.
Princeton won its 13th Ivy League title and fourth consecutive a year ago and went on to capture the Ivy League Tournament. Earning the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, the Tigers earned a first-round bye before hosting and winning the second round to advance to the quarterfinals in the program's 25th NCAA tournament appearance. Though the Tigers lost two first-team All-Americas in Ellie DeGarmo and Olivia Hompe, who was also a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy, Princeton brings in the second-best recruiting class in the nation including the US Lacrosse National Player of the Year. Twenty players return with a veteran midfield ready to get started as preseason begins on Thursday, Feb. 1.
The Tigers open the 2018 season at Temple on Saturday, Feb. 17.

The 2018 Coaches Poll has been expanded to include 25 teams in all three NCAA Divisions this year in order to more accurately reflect the growth of the game at the collegiate level in recent years. The first Division I regular season poll for the 2018 season will be published on February 19.
