Three Women's Lacrosse Alumni Set For World Championships

A trio of Princeton women's lacrosse alumni are set to compete at the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championships in Tokyo which will be played July 24-August 2.
Jami MacDonald '26 will represent Canada, while Sarah Nelson '25 and Olivia Pugh '22 will play for the Philippines.
MacDonald and Team Canada are playing in Pool B alongside Australia, Germany and Wales. Nelson and Pugh will compete in Pool D alongside Czechia, Israel and Japan.

The top two teams in each pool will advance to the quarterfinals which will be held on July 29. The semifinals will be held on July 31 with the gold medal and bronze medal games set for August 2.
MacDonald, who won a silver medal with Canada at the 2024 U20 World Championships, is making her debut with the Senior National Team. Canada has won silver at the last three World Championships in 2013, 2017, and 2022 after earning bronze in 2009 and at the first World Championship in 1982.
Nelson and Pugh have played for the Philippines at the senior level previously at the Asia-Pacific Championship in 2025 where the team finished third to qualify for its first World Championship.
