Jami MacDonald '26 Wins Silver Medal With Canada At World Championship

Jami MacDonald's debut at the World Championships resulted in a silver medal with Team Canada after a loss to the United States in the Gold Medal Game that concluded the tournament in Tokyo.
A recent graduate from the Class of 2026, MacDonald followed up a silver at the U20 World Championships in 2024 with a medal in her first Worlds with the senior national team.
MacDonald appeared in six games with the Canadians, registering two goals and two assists. She played in all three preliminary round games as Canada went 3-0 in Pool B, scoring goals in Canada's wins over Germany and Wales. She would then play in all three medal round games for Team Canada which has now won silver in each of the last four World Championships.
Two other Princeton women's lacrosse alumni were in action at the World Championships as Sarah Nelson '25 and Olivia Pugh 22 competed for Philippines which was making its debut at the World Championships. The debut was one to remember for the team as they went 1-2 in Pool D to finish in third place and just miss out on advancing to the quarterfinals. Ultimately, they would defeat Wales in a Placement Round contest before finishing in 10th place overall after a loss to Argentina in the 10th Place Game.
Nelson appeared in all five games, scoring two goals and adding two assists. Pugh played in five games as well for Philippines, causing one turnover and picking up five ground balls.
