Schrage Wins ITA Northeast Regional Singles Title

Sophomore Stephanie Schrage played once and won twice Tuesday to claim the ITA Northeast Regional singles title as play came to a close at Yale.
She is the first Tiger since Amanda Muliawan '16 in 2012 to win the regional singles championship, and Schrage will now have the chance to play at the ITA Fall Nationals in Surprise, Ariz., Nov. 7-11.
Schrage won her semifinal match 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 over Harvard's Jenna Friedel and then claimed the title when she defeated Penn's Iuliia Bryzgalova in a walkover. Schrage, the tournament's third seed, had to win five matches, not counting the walkover, in five days to take the title.
