Teves and Veronneau Named Finalists for Senior CLASS Award

Josh Teves and Max Véronneau were both announced as finalists for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award® in collegiate hockey. They are two of 15 student-athletes to capture the prestigious honors and the only two in the Ivy League to be honored as Princeton is one of two schools with two finalists.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
A mechanical engineer major, Teves led the nation's defenseman in points per game last season, averaging 1.06 points per game with 33 points in 31 games. Overall, he ranked 27th among all skaters including forwards. He was named to the All-ECAC Hockey Third Team as he guided his team to the ECAC Championship and an NCAA Tournament bid and was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Tournament Team in 2018. In the classroom, Teves is on track to earn a certificate in Robotics and Intelligent Systems. He is writing his senior thesis on the design of eco-friendly hybrid engines, maximizing fuel efficiency, range and speed. Véronneau is a mechanical engineer major and twice been named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team. An assistant captain on the Princeton hockey team, Veronneau sets the standard for the rest of the team. Bilingual in English and French, Véronneau is a first-team All-American, who finished second in the nation in points per game last year with 1.53. He led the ECAC Hockey Champion Princeton team in scoring with 55 points in 36 games. Véronneau was the national leader in assists per game and was on the Tigers' top-ranked power-play unit. He currently has 107 career points, ranking him 10th all-time at Princeton. A first-team All-ECAC Hockey selection as a junior, Véronneau led the league in scoring with 37 points in 22 conference games. Click here to read Veronneau's full Player Card.
From the list of 15 candidates, a national committee will select 10 finalists for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award in February. Those 10 names will then be placed on the official ballot for a nationwide vote. Fan balloting will be coupled with votes from coaches and media to determine the recipient of the award.
Neither would be the first to win the honor, as Landis Stankieveich won the 2008 Senior CLASS Award.
