Seggerman, Sarita Win Singles Openers at Wake Forest

Sophomores Ryan Seggerman and Kabir Sarita each won their first-round matches at the Wake Forest Invitational Friday.
Seggerman beat Virginia's Matthew Lord 6-3, 6-2 and Sarita won 6-2, 6-0 over Mercer's Carver Avant. The Tiger pair dropped their doubles match to Richmond's George Lovitt and John Walsh, 6-3.
Seggerman will meet Duke's No. 87-ranked Nick Stachowiak in the A1 singles quarterfinals, and Sarita will meet Davidson's Sam Kavarana. In doubles play, Indiana's Patrick Fletchall and William Piekarsky will be the opponent for the Tiger pair in the A2 doubles consolation semis.
The doubles match is set for 9 a.m., followed by each Tiger's singles match.
