December 29, 2018 | Men's Ice Hockey
Senior Austin Shaw earned a win in his first career start at Hobey Baker Rink making 27 saves. Freshman Corey Andonovski scored his first two career goals as Princeton (5-8-2) got all four lines in on the scoring action. Ryan Kuffner and Max Véronneau both scored on the top line, while Liam Grande and Jackson Cressey had two assist nights. Jake Paganelli and Matt Kellenberger also had two assists, with Luke Keenan, Spencer Kryczka and Derek Topatigh netting goals.
Princeton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 10 minutes before Maine added two to Princeton's one to settle the first period, 4-2. The teams tradded power-play markers in the second before two breakaway goals for the Tigers in the third.
Maine (5-9-2) got two of its three goals on the power play and pulled Jeremy Swayman after allowing the fourth goal at 15:06 of the first with nine saves to his name. Rob McGovern made 21 saves in the remaining 44:54.
It will be all ECAC Hockey the rest of the way as Princeton hosts Cornell and Colgate next weekend, Jan. 4 & 5 at Hobey Baker Rink.
