
Princeton Splits First Day at Ivy Round-Robin in Jadwin

The first day of the Ivy League round-robin fencing event in Jadwin saw each Princeton team get a win over Yale and take a loss against Columbia as the two-day competition got underway with three rounds of competition.
Princeton had a bye in Saturday afternoon's round and will have four bouts tomorrow on the women's side and three on the men's. Princeton's women will take on Cornell at 10 a.m., followed by both teams against Penn at 11:45 a.m., Brown at 2:15 p.m. and Harvard at 4.
Rookie saber Daniel Kwak led the Tiger men with a 5-1 record Saturday, while sophomore épée Kasia Nixon led the Princeton women at 5-1.
Columbia leads the men's standings at 2-0 with Harvard next at 2-1, followed by Penn at 1-0, Princeton at 1-1, Yale at 1-2 and Brown at 0-3. The Lions and Crimson co-lead the women's standings at 3-0 with Penn and Princeton next at 1-1 apiece, followed by Yale at 1-2, Cornell at 0-2 and Brown at 0-3.
