Marathon Middle Game Highlights Charleston Volleyball Win
February 10, 2018 | Men's Volleyball
The Charleston Golden Eagles won a marathon second set, in which both teams had multiple game balls, and used that momentum to claim a 25-20, 34-32, 25-22 home victory over Princeton Saturday night. The Tigers fell to 0-2 in EIVA play, which continues next Saturday night at George Mason.
Sophomore George Huhmann led Princeton with 12 kills, five blocks, four digs and three service aces, while classmate Greg Luck had 11 kills and nine digs. Junior Oboh had eight kills and four blocks, while Parker Dixon added seven kills and six digs. Freshman setter Joe Kelly paced the offense with 34 assists, while classmate Cade Keegan had seven digs.
The second set was the critical one for both sides. Princeton led 21-15, but Charleston ran off the next five points to get right back in the set. The Golden Eagles would actually grab a 24-22 lead, but a Luck kill and an Oboh block drew the Tigers even and set up a wild run of extra points. Princeton's last lead would come at 32-31, but Charleston scored the final three points for the set and the 2-0 lead. The Eagles had another rally in the third to take the match.
