Women Take Second, Men Fourth as Ivy Championships Close in Jadwin

A year ago, the Princeton women ran unbeaten through the Ivy League round-robin fencing event, winning the program's seventh title in an eight-year span, dealing runner-up Columbia its lone loss.
This year, Columbia returned the favor, handing the Princeton women their lone loss as the Lions claimed the title with Princeton finishing runner-up. Harvard, at 4-2, Penn, at 3-3, Yale, at 2-4, Cornell, at 1-5, and Brown, at 0-6, rounded out the women's field.
Princeton's men took fourth behind a three-way tie at 4-1 including Columbia, Harvard and Penn. Princeton, at 2-3, finished in front of Yale, at 1-4, and Brown, at 0-5. A year ago, Columbia, Princeton and Penn shared the men's crown.
Rookie saber Daniel Kwak led the Princeton men in wins with an 11-4 record, while sophomore épée Kasia Nixon led the women at 17-1, a record that led all women's fencers across the three weapons. Sophomore saber Maia Chamberlain co-led the women's sabers at 15-3 with Columbia's Violet Michel.
