Eye on the Tigers
No. 14 Princeton is 2-1 on the season and coming off of an 18-12 win over Lehigh on the road on Tuesday night, in the first of four straight away games. Freshman Kyla Sears has scored 10 goals and adds three assists, while sophomore Tess D'Orsi has seven goals and four assists. Junior Kathryn Hallett has nin tallies and one helper. Senior Ellie McNulty and freshman Marge Donovan are the team leaders in draw controls with 19 and 17, respectively. Sophomore defender Alex Argo has seven caused turnovers and six ground balls to lead the Tigers in both categories. Senior Mary Kate McDonough has started in goal for all three games and has a .438 save percentage and a 10.89 goals against average.
Two on the Tewaaraton
Seniors Camille Sullivan and junior Elizabeth George were both named to the 2018 Tewaaraton Trophy Watch List that was announced by the IWLCA this evening. George has played in 35 career games and 40 goals and 13 assists, while adding 45 draw controls, 33 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers. Sullivan has appeared in 58 games and has 35 goals and 14 assists, 68 ground balls, 45 draws and 32 caused turnovers.
The Series
Princeton holds a 35-4 advantage in the all-time series with Brown since the teams first met in 1980. The Tigers have won the last three meetings, and have lost just once 26 years a game that went into overtime in 2014. Last year Princeton took a 10-7 game at home.
Scouting the Bears
Brown is 2-1 after starting the season with decisive wins over Quinnipiac and Holy Cross then lost a 22-12 game at Boston College last Saturday. Freshman Risa Mosenthal leads the offense with 13 goals while sophomore Emma DeGennaro adds 12 points on nine goals and three helpers. Junior Hafsa Moinuddin has a team-high seven assists and four goals. Seniors Marissa Hudgins has nine ground balls and five caused turnovers. Sophomore Emily Fryer has won 15 draws and junior Caroline Zaffino has 12, as they average more than five more draws than their opponents. Sophomore Maggie Bigelow has started in all three games in goal and has a .304 save percentage and an 11.57 GAA.
