Quinn Ties for Fourth in Myrtle Beach
March 11, 2018 | Men's Golf
Evan Quinn turned in an under-par score for the second consecutive round as the Princeton men's golf team wrapped play at the General Hackler Invitational at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Princeton finished 13th in a 15-team field that included eight Golfstat top-40 teams. Eighth-ranked Georgia Tech finished at -16, five strokes in front of second-ranked Texas A&M. Georgia Tech's Chris Petefish won medalist honors at -7, two strokes in front of teammate Noah Norton and Virginia's Andrew Orischak. Quinn, Texas A&M's Dan Erickson and LSU's Philip Barbaree were next at -4.
Quinn's second-round 67 Saturday was two shots off the tournament low of 65, which Orischak and Liberty's Ervin Chang each carded Sunday. A sophomore, Quinn has led Princeton in all six tournaments between the fall and the spring seasons, firming that status Sunday with a final-round 70. Senior teammate Michael Davis closed his tournament with an eagle on the par-five 13th hole.
